“The prevailing concept of Mizpah is one where love in its truest sense is expressed”

Mizpah is first mentioned in the Bible when Jacob and Laban built a stone monument or “watchtower” as a sign of their covenant – “The Lord watch between me and thee when we are absent one from another”. The name Mizpah is given to many places in the Bible, but common to all is that it signifies unity, revival, hope, tolerance and a positive solution-focused approach to a prevailing issue.

The prevailing concept of Mizpah is one where love in its truest sense is expressed, the love described by the Greek word “agape” , often translated as charity, that which leads us to improve our own perspective, encourage others, challenge injustice, regroup to take control of our behaviour and lifestyle, and in so doing manage our pain. Through this love, we experience true joy and delight in the recognition that our holistic wellbeing depends on the intricate balance between physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Mizpah signifies a step, which leads to a positive journey – a journey wherein we discover our potential and identify a sense of purpose, leading to growth.

In today’s world we struggle to balance home and work and often losing sight of the delicate balance of duty between our responsibilities to our work, family and others we care for.
